Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Workday Developer (Reporting) with 10+ years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in Workday reporting to serve as the primary owner of reporting activities for a large-scale implementation program.
- This role focuses on designing, developing, optimizing, and managing Workday reports while partnering closely with implementation teams, functional SMEs, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage all reporting-related project activities, including maintaining the report inventory
- Partner with the implementation team to gather, define, and coordinate reporting requirements for custom reports (simple to complex)
- Design, develop, and modify Workday Simple, Advanced, and Matrix reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve report-related issues in a timely manner
- Analyze and optimize report performance
- Test reports against defined requirements and validate data accuracy
- Coordinate unit testing and end-to-end testing with client functional SMEs
- Track reporting workstream progress using Confluence, JIRA, and SharePoint
- Maintain detailed documentation to meet internal and external audit/control requirements
- Collaborate with reporting leads and project resources to deliver assigned reports
- Support knowledge transfer to functional teams as needed
Required Qualifications & Experience
Core Skills
- 10+ years of overall professional experience
- Strong hands-on experience as a Workday Report Developer
- Proven expertise building:
- Simple Reports
- Advanced Reports
- Matrix Reports
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional partners for report specification and requirement gathering
- Strong experience with data mapping and report validation
Technical Skills
- Intermediate to strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Experience analyzing large datasets for reporting accuracy and performance
Process & Tools
- Experience working within implementation or transformation projects
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
- Strong understanding of testing processes and defect resolution
