Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, REST API testing, and automation framework development.

The SDET will work closely with software developers, QA analysts, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills and the ability to build Java-based utilities and scalable automation frameworks in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and automation frameworks.
  • Develop robust automation solutions using Core Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG.
  • Perform functional and integration testing of applications through REST API testing.
  • Develop Java-based utility tools to improve testing efficiency and automation capabilities.
  • Design and implement automated testing solutions using BDD and TestNG.
  • Expand existing automation frameworks to support additional test capabilities and application coverage.
  • Analyze existing systems and identify opportunities to improve automation, test coverage, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Perform root cause analysis of test failures and application defects.
  • Collaborate with QA Analysts, Software Developers, and Test Engineers to understand application workflows, use cases, and technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain automated tests based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Ensure automation scripts and frameworks follow coding standards, best practices, and testability requirements.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes, automation frameworks, and quality engineering practices.
  • Work with development and QA teams to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and validate fixes.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in SDET, QA Automation, Software Testing, or a related role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java and object-oriented programming.
  • Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver.
  • Strong experience with TestNG.
  • Hands-on experience with REST API testing and automation.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of BDD and automated testing methodologies.
  • Ability to independently design, develop, and enhance automation solutions.
  • Experience developing small Java-based utility tools.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Good understanding of AWS services.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database queries.
  • Experience with Jira and ALM.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Playwright.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into build and deployment pipelines.
  • Knowledge of scalable and maintainable test automation architecture.
  • Experience with additional API automation and testing tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based test automation environments.
