Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager will lead data modernization initiatives for the State Office of Vital Records. This role focuses on improving data quality, modernizing legacy systems, and supporting FHIR-based solutions to enhance public health data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver multiple IT and data modernization projects
  • Support modernization of Vital Records systems using FHIR standards and APIs
  • Establish and enforce data quality policies and processes
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Partner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure on-time delivery
  • Communicate project status to technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Create and maintain project and program documentation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Health Administration, or related field
  • PMP (or equivalent) certification required
  • 12+ years of project/program management experience
  • 5+ years managing a portfolio of 7+ concurrent projects
  • Strong IT project management background (documentation, SOPs, governance)
  • Hands-on experience with FHIR standards and APIs
  • Experience in public health, government, or healthcare IT environments
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Preferred Experience:

  • RFP/RFI analysis and response experience

• Prior experience working in a State Government IT environment
