Job Description: 

The SAP MDG Consultant will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) with a strong focus on Material Master and Business Partner (BP) in S/4HANA. The role involves end-to-end ownership of MDG design and delivery, including FIT-GAP workshops, configuration, data migration strategy, integrations, and stakeholder engagement.

The consultant will work independently on MDG initiatives, ensuring delivery of high-quality, compliant, and well-governed master data solutions.

Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills

  • 10+ years of overall SAP experience with 2+ full-cycle SAP MDG implementations.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SAP MDG Material Master and Business Partner.
  • Proven ability to drive end-to-end MDG implementations with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on configuration experience in:
  1. MDG IMG
  2. DRF IMG
  3. BRF+ rules
  4. MDG workflows
  5. Data Replication Framework (DRF)
  • Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA MDG technical framework.
  • Strong SAP data knowledge to design and deliver MDG Material Master solutions.
  • Experience defining and executing data migration strategies.
  • Ability to integrate MDG with SAP and non-SAP systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead MDG Material Master and BP FIT-GAP workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Perform end-to-end S/4HANA MDG configuration, including MDG IMG, DRF IMG, workflows, and validation rules.
  • Create and maintain key documentation (BPDs, process flows, FSDs, configuration, and GAP analysis).
  • Provide guidance on data governance, data quality, and stewardship best practices.
  • Define and support data migration strategies and integrations with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and non-SAP systems.
  • Apply strong knowledge of SAP data models, data dictionary, and object relationships.
  • Collaborate across onshore/offshore teams and engage stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

Required Skills & Knowledge 

  • SAP ECC & S/4HANA MDG with strong expertise in Material Master and Business Partner.
  • Hands-on experience with BRF+, MDG workflows, and DRF.
  • Strong understanding of SAP data dictionary, architecture, and data models.
  • Experience with data migration, system integration, and FIT-GAP analysis.
  • Ability to produce clear functional and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead workshops and align business and IT teams.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused.
