Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Oracle PL/SQL Developer with strong expertise in handling highly sensitive and large-scale datasets. The ideal candidate will have deep RDBMS knowledge, strong performance tuning skills, and experience working in financial industry environments, preferably Capital Markets or Securities Finance. This role requires strong analytical thinking, independent problem-solving abilities, and collaboration within Agile teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL programs including:
  1. Stored Procedures
  2. Functions
  3. Triggers
  4. Packages
  5. Views
  6. Indexes and Constraints
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for high-performance and large-volume data processing.
  • Perform performance tuning of stored procedures and SQL queries using execution plans and optimization techniques.
  • Implement and manage ETL processes for high-volume data loads using tools such as SQL Loader.
  • Work with highly sensitive and large-scale financial datasets ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Participate in database design, data modeling, and schema optimization.
  • Manage user privileges, object privileges, and database security configurations.
  • Work within Linux/Unix environments and utilize shell scripting and basic Unix commands as needed.
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to design, develop, and deploy solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable database solutions.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Strong RDBMS knowledge and advanced SQL querying expertise.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience handling large datasets and high-throughput systems.
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data loading techniques.
  • Experience in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of database modeling and data architecture principles.
  • Experience working in Agile methodology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions independently.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services domain.
  • Experience in Capital Markets or Securities Finance.
  • Understanding of financial glossaries and industry terminologies.
  • Knowledge of:

  3. Scheduling tools such as Control-M
  • Exposure to AWS Cloud environments.
