JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly experienced Network Security Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in FortiSASE and Fortinet firewall technologies. This role is responsible for securing enterprise and customer environments by managing cloud-delivered and on-prem network security solutions. The ideal candidate is independent, technically strong, and comfortable owning security operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, configure, and support network security platforms including FortiGate, FortiSASE, and Akamai WAF.
Troubleshoot firewall policies, traffic flows, and complex network connectivity issues across multiple environments.
Perform daily operational support, routine maintenance, and health checks of network and security infrastructure.
Implement and configure FortiSASE components including ZTNA, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), CASB, and FWaaS.
Integrate SASE and cloud security solutions with existing enterprise network and security architectures.
Monitor security events, performance, and availability using centralized management and monitoring tools.
Diagnose and resolve latency, access, and connectivity issues impacting remote and hybrid users.
Continuously update firewall rules, security policies, and configurations to address evolving threats and business needs.
Ensure all security configurations comply with organizational standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for configurations, procedures, incidents, and operational processes.
Collaborate closely with network, cloud, and security teams to support modern workforce and secure access models.
Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles to support ongoing operations.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in network security engineering, firewall administration, and enterprise security operations.
Strong hands-on experience with FortiSASE and Fortinet security solutions.
Solid understanding of ZTNA, SWG, CASB, FWaaS, and DLP concepts.
Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VPNs, DNS, and routing protocols.
Experience with SD-WAN and secure remote access technologies.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience implementing SASE or cloud-delivered security solutions.
Fortinet certifications (NSE 4 or higher).
Cloud security certifications such as CCSP or AWS Security Specialty.
