We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Automation / Framework Engineer with 12+ years of experience to drive, design, and enhance automation testing for the client’s new internal platform and enterprise applications.
This role requires a strong balance of technical leadership and hands-on automation development, with an expected 50/50 split between leading teams and writing automation scripts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building robust automation frameworks, improving test quality, and guiding teams toward modern, scalable testing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and own automation strategy, framework design, and implementation across applications.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright.
- Write and maintain hands-on automation scripts using C#, .NET, and Java.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Drive test automation execution using Azure DevOps, including pipelines, test plans, and reporting.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews for automation engineers.
- Define and enforce automation best practices, coding standards, and quality metrics.
- Leverage Generative AI tools to improve test coverage, script creation, and test optimization.
- Analyze test results, identify gaps, and continuously improve test effectiveness.
- Ensure automation solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
- Strong expertise in Selenium and Playwright for UI automation.
- Hands-on experience with C# / .NET and Java.
- Solid experience working with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, test management, and reporting.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining custom automation frameworks.
- Ability to balance technical leadership with hands-on development (50/50 role).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience testing enterprise-scale platforms and applications.
- Exposure to or hands-on experience with Generative AI in test automation.
- Experience with API and performance testing is a plus.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring automation teams.
