Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Java & AWS Developer to join our team, working with a prominent Randstad client in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based software solutions leveraging AWS technologies. This role requires a keen ability to create efficient, scalable, and robust applications while adhering to organizational objectives and industry best practices. Collaboration, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement new features from detailed requirements.
  • Support and troubleshoot time-sensitive production activities with minimal response time.
  • Debug existing code and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
  • Build and maintain robust solutions using Java 8, AWS, and Aurora Postgres 14.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Ensure alignment with Agile development methodologies and best practices.
  • Maintain and improve existing applications while adhering to change and release management processes.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Utilize knowledge of financial systems, reporting, and audit processes to enhance application functionality.
  • Foster strong working relationships with team members and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Java and AWS technical certifications, with formal training in development methodologies.
  • Minimum of six years of IT experience, including five years in a developer role.
  • Proficiency in Java 8, AWS, and relational databases, including Aurora Postgres.
  • In-depth knowledge of programming, systems analysis, and application architecture standards.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with version control systems and Agile development environments.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and audit processes is a plus.
