This position serves as a technical expert for the agency’s network, server, and security infrastructure, ensuring alignment with Department of Enterprise Technology (DET) standards. This position will additional assist in supporting and developing Google Scripts for application support.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee network and security appliances, telephony systems, Active Directory Group Policy, security patching, anti-virus systems, and escalated technical support.
- Monitor system performance, ensuring optimal operation and providing metrics to leadership.
- Define and document infrastructure architecture, security configurations, and connectivity.
- Lead feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses for infrastructure projects.
Security and Compliance:
- Lead security and vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Ensure adequate security logging and adherence to best practices for audit compliance.
- Manage remote office connections to state systems and the internet.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert input on IT processes, best practices, change control, and operational security.
- Establish policies for integrating business needs with IT systems.
- Guide technical solutions, upgrades, and infrastructure changes.
- Develop standards for vendor-hosted infrastructure, integrating diverse systems and platforms.
Process Improvement:
- Develop detailed documentation and procedures to optimize workflows and support efficiency.
- Identify tasks suitable for delegation to other teams, ensuring appropriate roles and rights.
- Document and analyze the current infrastructure environment, projecting future needs and innovations.
Telephony:
- Innovate telephony solutions while maintaining existing functionality.
