Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Java Production Support Engineer with 8–12+ years of expertise in supporting enterprise Java applications in a 24×7 production environment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in L2/L3 production support, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), performance tuning, monitoring, and production deployments. The role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Linux, SQL, Kafka, JVM tuning, CI/CD, and cloud technologies, along with the ability to lead critical production incidents and ensure high application availability.

Required Skills

  • 8–12+ years of Java Production Support experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot.
  • Expertise in supporting REST APIs and Microservices.
  • Strong experience in L2/L3 Production Support in a 24×7 environment.
  • Experience with Major Incident Management (P1/P2/P3), RCA, SLA management, and Problem/Change Management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Java applications, middleware, databases, and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Experience with messaging tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, or ActiveMQ.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, or WebSphere.
  • Expertise in JVM tuning, GC analysis, Heap Dumps, Thread Dumps, and Performance Optimization.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Git, and release management.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise Java applications.
  • Lead and resolve critical production incidents (P1/P2) within SLA timelines.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions.
  • Troubleshoot Java applications, APIs, databases, middleware, messaging systems, and infrastructure.
  • Monitor application health and improve system stability through automation.
  • Analyze logs, JVM metrics, thread dumps, and heap dumps to resolve issues.
  • Support production deployments, release validation, and change management.
  • Collaborate with Development, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Business teams.
  • Create SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Mentor junior support engineers and drive continuous service improvements.
