The Senior Project Manager will lead data modernization initiatives for the State Office of Vital Records. This role focuses on improving data quality, modernizing legacy systems, and supporting FHIR-based solutions to enhance public health data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver multiple IT and data modernization projects
- Support modernization of Vital Records systems using FHIR standards and APIs
- Establish and enforce data quality policies and processes
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources
- Partner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate project status to technical teams and executive stakeholders
- Create and maintain project and program documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Health Administration, or related field
- PMP (or equivalent) certification required
- 12+ years of project/program management experience
- 5+ years managing a portfolio of 7+ concurrent projects
- Strong IT project management background (documentation, SOPs, governance)
- Hands-on experience with FHIR standards and APIs
- Experience in public health, government, or healthcare IT environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Preferred Experience:
- RFP/RFI analysis and response experience
• Prior experience working in a State Government IT environment
